Uniqso Review ♥ EOS White Mesh ♥ Halloween Circle Lenses on light blue eyes

*sorry for messy makeup*

Hey cuties!

Today I got some crazy Halloween lenses as a review for once! Halloween season started (for lots of people already in September, apparently), so I thought: what could fit better than a tiny little review about some Halloween circle lenses?
Personally, I've never celebrated Halloween in my life, which is also why I don't have any special Halloween supplies or things like fake blood or FMX makeup. But, we do what we can, and I was actually really excited to make my very first Halloween-ish look, including these lenses!

Short disclaimer: A review for the black wig I wear in this photo set can be seen here!

Short summary: What are Circle Lenses?

Circle Lenses are like usual contact lenses, just that their diameter is larger than the regular ones. Soft contact lenses are around 13,8 mm in diameter - Circle Lenses (which are btw always soft so they can contain more water) are often 14 mm, 15 mm or more. This makes your eyes look bigger and dollier. You can also play around with different designs and colours, so you have a great variety for makeup looks or cosplay characters. I personally wear them to enlarge my eyes because I think it looks cuter with the bold makeup I wear daily. Furthermore, they often have prescription, so if you're just as blind as me, you don't have to wear glasses, and they last about a year.

About Uniqso

Uniqso has a reeeally huge range of circle lenses, wigs, lashes, socks and cosplay items. They are founded in Malaysia and guide their shop since 2011. With over 800 different lenses from different brands like Kimchi, EOS, I.Fairy or Beuberry they are a big company with a lot of featured bloggers. I think they have really cheap prices and I heard that their wigs have a good quality as well. Moreover, their packaging is adorable, which is perfect for me since I love cute packagings so much. I buy my Circle Lenses from Uniqso since 2012 now and I can honestly say that they never let me down.

Review and Rating

Color and Design:
Color... haha, what color. It's bright white! To the design: the dots won't give you a vision as if you'd see through tiny holes. Your brain is so amazing that it still will let you see a whole image even though parts of the pupil are covered; so no, you don't see everything in dots. Instead, you'll have like a grey shroud as your vision. Colors aren't as bright anymore. I honestly can't say if everything is a bit blurry as well as the lenses were only available in a 0.00 prescription. I have -3.00 usually on both eyes, so EVERYTHING was blurry for me of course xD I wore my glasses sometimes though and it didn't seem more blurry than usually for me. You have to get used to seeing everything like this.... grey and kinda colorless, but you will get used to it in time. However, if your ghost, corpse, Hinata from Naruto or for which character you will wear these lenses has glasses ... (a ghost with glasses is apparently pretty cool) .... then you'll be fine with these lenses if you have prescription. For me, I struggled a lot without my glasses ;_;
Of course you can still see where my pupil and iris is, but it wouldn't be possible to produce lenses which makes them 100% invisible without disturbing our vision.

PRO TIP: Do your makeup BEFORE putting in these lenses. Usually you shouldn't do that, but with these lenses... I struggled so, so hard to put on makeup as I didn't see anything. The greyish vision and not having glasses was just horrible. That's why my makeup turned out so super wacky for this review, so I'm really sorry!!

Comfortability:
Well... technically, the lenses were pretty comfortable. However, the grey vision is just really annoying. If you are on a Halloween Party and you're looking to experience it with ALL your senses (and not your vision being only half as good as usually), I wouldn't recommend these lenses. It was such a relief when I put off the lenses, everything seemed so clear again! 10/10 ♥ recommend if you want to appreciate all the colors in the world afterwards.

No, really, jokes aside, it wasn't as bad as I thought it was. It was okay for me to wear these lenses for a couple of hours, and people without prescription won't have as many issues as I had. I definitely recommend them for photoshootings or special Halloween or Cosplay occassions! Don't be afraid to test them though out as I think they give an awesome effect!!

Price:
$27.90 is high if you compare it to usual circle lens prices, but for a Halloween pair like this still absolutely okay.

Uniqso and Shipping:
No problems at all, everything perfect as usually! I never had any problems with Uniqso at all. I chose DHL Express, which is $15. My lenses were delivered after 1 to 1 1/2 weeks without problems with customs. If you want a cheaper shipping option, there are cheaper ones available (I believe for only $7 or even completely free shipping). They take longer to be delivered to you, but not for a complete eternity, so it's absolutely okay I think!

Overall:
Recommended for special occassions!

  1. Wow, these lenses look really wacky but in a cool way!
I've been wondering how they actually look when worn and I'm surprised by how much they actually block out the iris (aka how white they appear) – I thought that it would look ugly/too obvious with the mesh print but I really like how they look! I think these could work for one of my future cosplays! Thanks for reviewing! :D

  2. Not sure those lenses are the best choice. I mean, they aren't really convenient for wearing them during the day, and if you want to take photos - you have Photoshop. You always can just paint your eyes and they will look even cooler. I would better spent those money on website translation services. It would be much more useful.
